Why You Should Get A Hydrafacial

By Martin Kinsella on May 1st, 2019

You’re probably wondering what on earth a Hydrafacial actually is. Well, it’s a medical grade hydradermabrasion device that is used on your face to give your pores a good clean out while simultaneously exfoliating and infusing your skin with intense serums to moisturise and protect your skin. The unique device uses spiralised ‘vortex technology’, allowing it to essentially give your pores a good vacuum while applying the bespoke serums to target your specific skin complaints.

All sound a bit serious? Don’t worry: the Hydrafacial is completely painless, safe, and is actually quite a gentle treatment. It’s a machine with a handheld device, the tip of which will be moved across your face by your esthetician. The procedure is done in three steps, taking around 30-45 minutes, making it perfect for anybody with a busy lifestyle. It’s a non-invasive treatment that is suitable for all skin types. Better yet, it promises instant results!

The Process

We offer a free consultation to everyone considering a Hydrafacial. Because of its gentle, non-invasive treatment, Hydrafacials are suitable for almost everyone. That said, we like to take a look at patients first and to hear about their previous skin complaints. The procedure can be tweaked to suit certain needs if need be. The consultation will include taking detailed photographs of your skin and pores, allowing us to plan a treatment just for you.

When you come in for your Hydrafacial, the treatment will start with your esthetician giving your face a quick manual cleanse before moving on to the exfoliating process. The exfoliation is going to open up your pores and sweep away all debris from remnant makeup and dead skin cells. Already this is going to have a positive impact on your skin as it clears the surface of your face, creating a brighter and healthier appearance immediately.

Next, a mix of glycolic and salicylic acids will be applied to give your skin a much deeper exfoliation. Don’t worry, it’s nothing like as harsh as it sounds. In fact, the mix used is specifically non-irritant, and whereas most glycolic peels will have your skin stinging for a short while after use, our mix is gentle enough that it only creates a slight tingle. This step of the treatment gets much deeper into your pores than you could ever get with a normal face cleanse.

The extraction comes once your face has been fully cleansed and exfoliated. This part of the treatment uses the handheld Hydrafacial device, moving the tip across your face. As this is happening, the device is gently circulating liquid through your pores and acting as a vacuum for all the things you want your skin to be rid of. The extraction process eliminates clogged pores, blackheads and other blemishes, and it does this instantly and painlessly.

After extraction comes the infusion. Your freshly cleansed, exfoliated and extracted skin is then treated to a special hydrating serum. This is going to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, and much more. The infusion uses antioxidants that will give your face a fresh and plump look, improving your tone while soothing your skin and leaving it protected.

As standard, here at Re-Enhance we also include the Dermalux treatment at the end of the Hydrafacial. The Dermalux uses three light therapies to rejuvenate skin, reduce redness and fight acne. We think it’s the perfect companion to the Hydrafacial’s thorough cleanse and exfoliation. The multi-award winning Dermalux uses blue, red and yellow infrared light to energise the skin. The light will combat bacteria in your skin, give your collagen a boost, and calm irritation. On top of the Hydrafacial, the whole process should only take about an hour! You really couldn’t achieve better results for your skin in an hour any other way.

Our standard Hydrafacial treatment costs £120. The general treatment includes everything above, is great for all skin types, and provides you with lasting results. We also offer an anti-aging Hydrafacial for £150. The anti-aging process focuses particularly on combating lines and wrinkles. It uses specific anti-aging products to help smoothen and plumpen your face, giving you a younger look. Both treatments come with the Dermalux included as standard.

Why Get A Hydrafacial?

A Hydrafacial can deal with all kinds of different skin complaints. The fact is that most of us have had some sort of issue before, whether it’s acne that just won’t budge, scarring that makes us feel self conscious, or the lines and signs of aging. With summer on the way, we all want to look and feel the best that we can.

By detoxifying the skin, removing dead skin cells, and extracting any and all debris clogging your skin and face, a Hydrafacial can make an instant improvement to acne and remove scarring and unsightly skin pigmentation. Fine lines and wrinkles, clogged pores and oily skin are no match for the Hydrafacial either!

The Hydrafacial is good for all skin types. It’s a very gentle treatment that achieves everything it has to do without irritating your skin, making it great for people with sensitive skin too. If you do have the kind of skin needs that make other types of treatment difficult, the serums used in the treatment can be changed and tailored uniquely for you.

It’s an incredibly quick procedure, taking around one hour to go through the entire process. On top of that, you don’t have to worry about downtime after the treatment is finished. Because the Hydrafacial is such a simple and non-invasive procedure, there’s no pain whatsoever. In fact, patients often compare it more to a soft, gentle massage than anything remotely uncomfortable. For this reason, you’re good to go the moment you’re done. Once the treatment is over, you can put on some make-up and head back into daily life straight away!

Hydrafacials are quick, easy and relaxing, but the best part is the results you can achieve. The results from a Hydrafacial are incomparable, and all it takes is just one treatment to start looking and feeling better instantly. The treatment is brilliant as a one-time use for anybody preparing for a special occasion, whether that be a birthday, wedding, anniversary or anything else! For those wanting to maintain their skin in the best condition it’s ever been in, regular use will keep your skin healthy for as long as you need. For those with problematic skin, frequent use of Hydrafacials could be the perfect option for you.
